Deputy Taken into custody in Central Florida

A Central Florida deputy was recently arrested for a violent offense.

The Hillsborough County deputy was arrested on multiple felony charges related to a domestic violence incident.

Brian Juliano, a 45-year-old deputy with the Department of Patrol Services, was arrested by the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Juliano was charged with many counts, including armed kidnapping, aggravated assault, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and tampering with witnesses.

According to local law enforcement, the charges arise from an incident in St. Petersburg. According to detectives, Juliano engaged in a verbal and physical fight with a woman during which he threatened her with a pistol, preventing her from leaving the house or phoning 911 for assistance.

“This arrest is deeply concerning and does not reflect the standards we expect of our deputies,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Any actions that violate the law or the trust of our community will be met with swift and decisive accountability. We will continue to cooperate fully with the investigating agency.”

Brian Juliano had worked for HCSO since April 2020, and he was suspended without pay until the conclusion of the criminal and administrative investigations.
