A 7-Eleven in Columbia, MD sold a $570,000 Multi-Match jackpot-winning ticket to an Ellicott City homeowner, who claimed the reward this week.
The Howard County man, who chose the nickname “Multi-Match Maniac,” told Lottery officials that he had been playing the same numbers twice a week for years, according to MD Lottery. For the April 16 drawing, he manually examined the numbers rather than scanning the ticket, and discovered that the final line on his ticket matched all of the winners.
The winner claimed the prize on May 14 and chose the $320,000 cash option. He stated that he intends to utilize the money to help pay for his daughter’s college tuition while investing the balance. The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-Eleven on 8251 Snowden River Parkway in Columbia. The merchant will get a $1,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
