Uncle and nephew apprehended in Tri-State, over 80 kilos of suspected cocaine seized

A Cincinnati man and his nephew from Fairfield are facing federal charges after being taken into custody with a large amount of suspected cocaine, firearms, and cash.

Damian Galan, 31, and Diego Galan, 19, have been charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine.

Cincinnati Police, the DEA, and the Cincinnati Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) began investigating the Galans after learning about their alleged narcotics trafficking in southwest Ohio and elsewhere.

On May 9, the men traveled to a Columbus motel and were spotted picking up four 17-gallon storage containers, according to U.S. Attorney Dominick S. Gerace. They took them back to Diego’s Fairfield house.

Search warrants were served at both men’s houses. Gerace claimed they discovered storage bins containing roughly 77 kilograms of suspected cocaine, as well as cash, firearms, and suspected meth at Diego’s home. They said they discovered another four kilograms of suspected cocaine and a pistol in Damian’s home.

The two males were apprehended on Sunday.

They could face up to life in jail if convicted.
