A man with a criminal history was apprehended with drugs on The Villages’ Historic Side.
According to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department, William Machuca Jr., 47, of Fruitland Park, was riding a bicycle around 1 a.m. Saturday in the area of Dustin Drive and Devon Drive in the Village of Silver Lake when an officer initiated a traffic stop because the bicycle lacked proper night riding lights. The officer discovered that Machuca was wanted on a Sumter County warrant for a probation violation.
Machuca was also caught in possession of 1.28 grams of methamphetamine in a tiny bag in his right front pocket. He was arrested on a drug possession charge and put into the Lake County Jail without bond owing to a probation violation.
In 2024, the New York native was jailed after entering a neighborhood eatery wearing a military uniform.
