Man found dead after early morning shooting in Louisville’s PRP area

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact LMPD’s anonymous Crime Tip Line.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man died after an early Wednesday morning shooting in the Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.

Officers responded around 6:18 a.m. to the 2600 block of Franklin Avenue following reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man, believed to be between 25 and 35 years old, lying next to a vehicle in the roadway with a gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

LMPD’s Homicide Unit initially responded, but later Wednesday morning the department said the case would be handled as a death investigation rather than a homicide.
