A major road in Lexington is closed following a serious crash involving a motorcycle.
Officials with the Lexington Fire Department said crews were dispatched at 2:46 p.m. after receiving reports of a crash. When they arrived, they found a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.
According to the fire department, one person suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Georgetown Street is closed in both directions, according to Lexington’s traffic ticker. Officials have shut down the roadway between Glen Arvin Avenue and Douglas Avenue, though it remains unclear how long the closure will remain in place.
