Louisville — A woman was hospitalized following a shooting in the Shawnee neighborhood Sunday afternoon, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Officers responded just before 4:30 p.m. to the 100 block of South 39th Street after receiving reports of gunfire.

When they arrived, police found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided aid at the scene until she was transported to a nearby hospital.

Authorities said her injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
