A New Albany man was arrested Wednesday night in Crawford County following a disturbance in the Marengo area.
Indiana State Police said troopers and deputies responded around 10:05 p.m. to reports of a man standing in the roadway and yelling at passing motorists. Officers identified the man as 39-year-old Mark Durbin.
Police said Durbin became hostile when officers approached and allegedly waved a large sharp object at them before fleeing on foot. After a brief pursuit, troopers used an electronic control device and took him into custody.
EMS evaluated Durbin at the scene before authorities transported him to the Crawford County Jail.
He faces charges including intimidation with a deadly weapon, resisting law enforcement, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.
