Man killed, officer injured during Park DuValle shooting investigation

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man was shot and killed Sunday night in Louisville’s Park DuValle neighborhood, and a police officer was injured after being struck by a fleeing vehicle.

Louisville Metro Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 2900 block of Annie Street around 9:15 p.m., according to department spokesperson Adam Sears.

While officers were investigating the scene, a vehicle fled the area and struck an officer. Sears said the officer remained conscious and alert and was transported to a hospital.

Officers later found a man who had been shot. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

LMPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
