LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A fire at a senior living facility in Middletown on Sunday evening sent two people to the hospital.
According to MetroSafe, crews received the call just before 6 p.m. for a fire at Arcadia Senior Living, located at 901 Blankenbaker Parkway, across from Southeast Christian Church.
Anchorage Middletown Fire Chief Pat Walsh said firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the building. Crews evacuated all 65 residents and accounted for everyone inside the facility.
Officials transported two people to the hospital—one for minor smoke inhalation and another for a medical condition. Their conditions have not been released.
As of around 9 p.m., crews were still working to bring the fire under control, and the scene remained active. More than 50 firefighters, 15 fire units, several local fire departments, and seven ambulances responded to the incident.
The facility is working to notify residents’ families, and officials have set up a reunification area in the parking lot of Southeast Christian Church across the street.
