KENTUCKY — Law enforcement agencies conducted a joint investigation that led to the arrest of an Ohio County man on drug trafficking and firearm charges, officials said.

According to the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police, officers took 34-year-old Dwayne Hackney of Centertown into custody Tuesday after a traffic stop in Allen County.

Authorities said detectives stopped Hackney’s vehicle due to dark aftermarket window tint. During the investigation, officers found a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine and a semi-automatic handgun inside the vehicle.

Officials said Hackney, a convicted felon, is suspected of buying the drugs and transporting them back to Ohio County for distribution.

Officers arrested Hackney without incident and booked him into the Allen County Jail.

He faces multiple charges, including first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, and traffic-related violations. Authorities also served him with a probation violation.

The investigation is ongoing.
