Kenny Patel is accused of taking part in a nationwide scheme that defrauded victims into sending large sums of money.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WSMV) — Federal authorities are searching for a man with ties to Kentucky in connection with a mail and wire fraud conspiracy.

The FBI said Kalpeshkumar “Kenny” Rasikbhai Patel, 34, is wanted for allegedly participating in a nationwide scheme between 2017 and 2021. Investigators say the operation targeted victims across the U.S., convincing them to send large amounts of money—often in cash or prepaid debit cards—to various addresses.

According to officials, victims were contacted by phone and led to believe their personal information or identities were linked to criminal activity.

A federal arrest warrant for Patel was issued on June 22, 2023, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky after he was charged with mail and wire fraud.

“Patel is considered a fugitive from justice, and any information regarding his whereabouts should be treated as significant and actionable,” the FBI said.

Authorities urge anyone with information about Patel’s location or the investigation to contact their local FBI office, the nearest American Embassy or Consulate, or submit an anonymous tip online.
