Police recovered a vehicle stolen earlier this week from a Walmart in Maysville, Kentucky, according to the Bellefontaine Police Department.
Authorities said the investigation began when the suspect called his mother from a McDonald’s on South Main Street on Monday, admitting he had taken the vehicle and already abandoned it.
Officers were dispatched the following day to 1780 South Main Street, where they located the stolen car.
Security footage from McDonald’s and nearby businesses, including Chipotle, helped officers track the vehicle.
Surveillance video showed the suspect backing the car into a parking spot before getting into another vehicle, which then left the area in an unknown direction.
Police towed the stolen black 2002 Honda CR-V to an impound lot.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
