EDGEFIELD, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) – Authorities in Edgefield County arrested a wanted fugitive from Kentucky, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials said they received a tip from Kentucky law enforcement that the fugitive was hiding in Edgefield County.
During the investigation, deputies located the suspect, identified as Samual Williams, 38, driving on Prescott Road within Sumter National Forest.
Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop and took Williams into custody without incident, the sheriff’s office said.
Bill to Align S.C. Taxes with Federal Code Advances in Senate
A bill that would align South Carolina’s tax code with the federal code has advanced out of the Senate Finance Committee.
Williams faces multiple charges, including first-degree criminal abuse, first-degree wanton endangerment, assault, second-degree domestic violence, and a first-degree unlawful sex act with an individual under 18 years of age.
Authorities transported Williams to the Edgefield County Detention Center, where he awaits extradition back to Kentucky.
