LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville dispensary is helping residents apply for medical marijuana cards at a reduced cost.
Kentucky Alternative Care is hosting a “Patient Drive Series” every Sunday in March from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot at 2401 Bardstown Road.
A mobile clinic bus will be available on site to help patients begin new applications or renew existing medical cannabis cards. The appointment cost has been reduced to $25.
“Most of the time, it’s going to cost anywhere between $125 to $175,” Tuesday Coughlin, KAC’s Retail Director, said. “It’s going to be discounted down to $25.”
Coughlin expects the clinic to assist between 40 and 60 patients each Sunday during the event.
“They will be doing everything that you need right then and there,” Coughlin said. “You shouldn’t have to go to different places to fill out your paperwork or get it notarized.”
As of March 13, Kentucky has approved 20,768 medical cannabis cards. The six qualifying conditions currently include:
Cancer
PTSD
Multiple sclerosis
Epilepsy
Chronic pain
Severe nausea
Governor Andy Beshear’s administration plans to expand the list to include 16 additional qualifying conditions in 2026.
Coughlin said appointments are encouraged, but walk-ups are also welcome during the events scheduled for March 15, 22, and 29.
