An investigation by the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office has led to the indictment of a Mt. Sterling man on multiple felony charges related to child exploitation.

Attorney General Russell Coleman and Ashton McKenzie, the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 21st Judicial Circuit of Kentucky, announced that work by the Attorney General’s Department of Criminal Investigations and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office resulted in the indictment.

A Montgomery County Grand Jury indicted Justin Eller, 38, of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, on 12 felony charges, including possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, most of the videos involved minors between the ages of 12 and 18. Officials said at least one video involved a child under the age of 12.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested Eller during a traffic stop following the investigation.

Authorities said the Department of Criminal Investigations opened the case in December after receiving cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The case remains ongoing, and officials say additional legal proceedings will take place in Montgomery County.
