LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The former president of the Louisville Urban League will have another opportunity to take her case against the organization back to court.
On Monday, a Jefferson Circuit Court judge scheduled a new trial date.
Kish Cumi Price filed the lawsuit in 2023, alleging she was terminated for exposing financial misconduct and conflicts of interest.
An attorney representing the Louisville Urban League argued the board’s decision was justified, saying Price was dismissed due to “poor leadership.”
The case went to trial last month, but a mistrial was declared after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict.
Price had sought up to $500,000 in lost wages and as much as $5 million in emotional distress damages. Because the jury could not reach a decision, no damages were awarded.
The new trial is expected to begin in either December or January, depending on witness availability.
