A man sought in connection with a failed murder attempt in Pike County, Kentucky, was taken into custody Friday in Virginia.

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) – Authorities arrested a man wanted in a Pike County attempted murder case on Friday in Virginia, according to the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said 50-year-old Marty Eugene Hurley was taken into custody in the parking lot of an auto parts store in the Hurley area of Buchanan County.

Hurley faces three counts of attempted murder in Kentucky. He is also charged with three counts of kidnapping, one count of arson and one count of criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Officials said deputies arrested Hurley without incident. He will be extradited to Kentucky to face the charges.

The U.S. Marshals Service assisted in the arrest, deputies added.
