A Louisville man is facing multiple charges after police accused him of trafficking marijuana while his young child was in the vehicle.
Corvonte Lynum, 30, was arrested following a traffic stop Saturday afternoon.
According to an arrest citation, Louisville Metro Police said an officer detected the smell of burnt marijuana coming from inside the car while speaking with Lynum.
The officer also observed Lynum’s 1-year-old son sitting in the front middle seat without a child safety seat.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found a large quantity of marijuana inside a backpack in the back seat, along with several individually wrapped baggies prepared for sale. The citation states the officer also discovered an open box of sandwich baggies, a digital scale, and a smoking pipe inside the backpack.
Lynum now faces charges of trafficking marijuana, unlawful transaction with a minor, and several additional drug and traffic violations.
He was booked into the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections and is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on February 18.
