KENTUCKY — A Louisville man was arrested Saturday after police said he was trafficking marijuana while his 1-year-old child was inside the vehicle.

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, officers pulled over 30-year-old Corvonte Lynum around noon during a routine traffic stop. Police said they detected the smell of marijuana coming from the car and saw the toddler sitting unsecured in the front seat.

Officers searched the vehicle and said they found multiple individually packaged bags of marijuana, along with a scale and other items commonly used for selling the drug.

Authorities took Lynum into custody. He faces several charges, including marijuana trafficking and unlawful transaction with a minor. He is set to be arraigned Monday morning.

The investigation is still ongoing.
