LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police (LMPD) have arrested a man months after a shooting in the Jacobs neighborhood.

Police arrested Theodore Freeman, 50, on Saturday, Feb. 7, following an investigation into a shooting that took place on Nov. 1, 2025, in the 1700 block of Berry Boulevard.

According to an arrest citation, Freeman shot the victim, a music DJ performing at an event, after a verbal argument between the victim and another individual.

The citation states that Freeman began walking away from the argument before pulling out a handgun and firing multiple shots at the DJ.

Police said the victim underwent surgery for “life-threatening injuries” and survived.

Authorities charged Freeman with first-degree assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He is also facing charges connected to an unrelated warrant from New Albany, Ind.

Freeman is expected to appear in court for arraignment on Monday.

LMPD said the investigation is ongoing.
