Louisville police investigating separate violent incidents leaving two injured

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police are investigating two separate violent incidents that left two people injured Sunday night in different parts of the city.

Officers responded to the 7300 block of Dunkirk Lane around 9:52 p.m. after receiving reports of a stabbing. According to LMPD, officers found a woman at the scene with a stab wound to her hand. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said a man was taken into custody in connection with the stabbing. His identity has not been released, and charges are pending.

About 20 minutes later, Second Division officers responded to a shooting in the Portland neighborhood. Police were called to the 2300 block of Portland Avenue around 10:10 p.m., where they found a man who had been shot in the arm.

The victim was transported to UofL Hospital for treatment. Police said no suspects have been identified in the shooting.
