Bryce Grant-Martin faces charges of aggravated battery and multiple weapons offenses following a parking lot shooting at Mick’s Lounge.
JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind — An 18-year-old is facing multiple felony charges after a Jan. 3 shooting at Mick’s Lounge left a man injured and led to a life-threatening confrontation, according to Jeffersonville police.
Police say that around 7:22 p.m. on Jan. 3, officers with the Jeffersonville Police Department responded to reports of shots fired in the parking lot of Mick’s Lounge. When officers arrived, those involved were leaving the area in several vehicles.
Bryce Grant-Martin, 18, was initially taken to Norton Clark Hospital before being transferred to UofL Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. Officers spoke with him at the hospital, but he declined to provide a statement.
Later, 60-year-old Joseph Glenn was treated at a hospital for a large head laceration that required stitches. Glenn told officers that a heated argument had taken place between his girlfriend and her son, Grant.
According to police, the situation escalated when Grant arrived at Mick’s Lounge with several other males. Glenn said he tried to escort Grant’s mother inside the business for safety when Grant pointed a firearm at her stomach. Glenn was struck in the head during the confrontation and then fired his own weapon. Police say Grant’s mother confirmed Glenn’s account, which was consistent with self-defense, and stated that she faced a life-threatening situation.
Grant is currently charged with:
Aggravated Battery (Level 3 Felony)
Two counts of Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon (Level 5 Felony)
Two counts of Pointing a Firearm (Level 6 Felony)
