A Louisville woman was charged with drug-related offenses Wednesday afternoon on North Main Street in Hopkinsville.

Hopkinsville Police say officers were called to the area involving 68-year-old Barbara Jennings after she was asked by a business to leave its parking lot.

According to police, Jennings was found sitting in a truck and speaking with the vehicle’s owner. Officers noted she appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance.

Police say Jennings allegedly asked the man for money, saying she wanted to visit her granddaughter, then later returned to ask for more money while warming up inside the truck.

After searching her belongings, officers reportedly found suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Jennings was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, public intoxication, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
