CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) — Several counties across the Tri-State area were placed under snow emergencies on Tuesday.

In Ohio, sheriffs in Adams, Lawrence, and Scioto counties declared Level 2 snow emergencies. Gallia and Jackson counties were placed under Level 1 snow emergencies.

In Kentucky, Greenup County was under a Level 2 snow emergency.

For Kentucky residents, a Level 2 snow emergency means road conditions are hazardous due to drifting snow and ice.

Officials advise that during severe weather, drivers should only travel if absolutely necessary. Residents are also encouraged to check with their employers to determine whether they are required to report to work.
