KENTUCKY — Two people are facing charges after a pursuit involving a reported stolen vehicle in Christian County on Monday, police said.

According to the Hopkinsville Police Department, officers attempted to stop a vehicle on West Ninth Street that had been reported stolen. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Corey Johnson of Hopkinsville, did not stop and fled. During the pursuit, police said Johnson crossed into oncoming traffic.

The chase ended on Fort Campbell Boulevard when a deputy used a precision immobilization technique to stop the vehicle. Johnson and a passenger, 21-year-old Brenda Oliver of Lawrenceville, Georgia, were taken into custody.

Both Johnson and Oliver are charged with receiving stolen property. Johnson also faces additional charges, including speeding 26 miles per hour or more over the limit, failure to signal or improper signal, first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, operating on a suspended or revoked license, first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, and possession of marijuana.

Both remain held at the Christian County Detention Center.
