LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man is facing charges in connection with the burglary of a family farm on New Year’s Eve.

Louisville Metro Police arrested 32-year-old Hamilton Austin on Wednesday. He has been charged with third-degree burglary.

According to police, Austin was captured on surveillance video entering Shake Farms on Routt Road on the morning of Dec. 31.

Catherine Shake said Austin took several power tools, including chainsaws and screwdriver sets.

Court records estimate the total value of the stolen items at more than $10,000.

After his arrest, Austin admitted to the theft and told investigators where the stolen tools were located.

Austin was arraigned Thursday morning, and a judge set his bond at $5,000.
