LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A third person has been arrested in connection with the February shooting death of Louisville Metro Department of Corrections officer Michael Wehdah.
Brian Ramsey, 40, was taken into custody Wednesday evening and charged with complicity to murder and complicity to robbery. Court records show he was indicted on Nov. 18 and arrested on a warrant.
Wehdah, a Liberian immigrant who became a U.S. citizen in 2022, was found shot to death on Feb. 16 in the 2700 block of Cedar Street in the Russell neighborhood. He lived in Louisville with his wife and teenage son and had recently completed the Louisville Metro Corrections Academy.
Ramsey joins two other suspects already arrested:
-
Kristy Brumley, 35, charged with complicity to murder, admitted to police she helped lure Wehdah to the scene and took his car and phone to conceal evidence.
-
Anthony Trabue, 36, charged with murder, was arrested after a brief standoff.
Both Brumley and Trabue were given $250,000 cash bonds and have since bonded out. They are scheduled for pretrial conferences on Jan. 20.
Police have not confirmed whether Wehdah’s murder was connected to his work at the jail.
