Nelson County Man Indicted in Deadly Fentanyl Trafficking Case

Phillip Wayne Young, 48, of Bardstown, Kentucky, has been indicted by a Nelson County Grand Jury on a charge of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Fentanyl), resulting in death.

The indictment, returned on October 15, 2025, accuses Young of transferring fentanyl or a fentanyl derivative that led to a person’s death, according to a release from Bardstown police.

The document states the fatal incident happened on November 27, 2024. The victim was identified as Ray Calbert, who was 47 years old, according to an online obituary.
