Steady showers are expected to bring a brief flood risk to Kentucky and Indiana.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — After a very wet Tuesday, the weather looks relatively quiet this morning across Kentucky and southern Indiana, though it remains cloudy and dreary.

However, conditions are expected to shift.

By Thursday afternoon, steady, moderate showers will move across Kentucky and Indiana. These widespread showers are expected to continue through Thursday night and into Friday.

Much like Tuesday, showers and storms will continue throughout the afternoon and evening hours.

With several days of potential rainfall, totals could climb to nearly two inches by the end of the week once all four days are combined.

If some areas experience more moderate to heavy rainfall, the flood risk will increase.

The flood threat remains active through Friday before conditions dry out heading into the weekend.

More rain is likely early next week, with showers possible Monday and Tuesday.

The WHAS11 Weather Impact Team will continue tracking incoming showers throughout the week and provide updates as needed with more wet days ahead.
