NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — FOX 17 News has issued a Code Red Weather Alert for Friday due to the potential for strong to severe storms.
Thursday will remain calm and mild, with highs in the low 70s, before showers and storms move in after sunrise Friday as a cold front pushes across Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
Most of the FOX 17 viewing area is under a slight (level 2 of 5) risk for severe weather.
The greatest threat window for severe storms will be Friday afternoon through the evening, with damaging winds being the primary concern.
While the chance for a brief spin-up tornado isn’t zero, meteorologists say the risk remains very low.
