A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 76-year-old in south Louisville on Wednesday night.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Richard Kevin Jenkins was found dead at the scene around 7:45 p.m. in the 7800 block of Manslick Road, near Oakcrest Court.
The Louisville Metro Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the case. Authorities said that around 5 p.m. Thursday, officers arrested Justin Hayes, 50, and charged him with murder.
An arrest citation indicates that the shooting occurred during a domestic violence incident, with Hayes reportedly contacting family members afterward and “alluding to shooting” Jenkins.
