WINCHESTER, Ky. – Families are calling for justice after Brian Epperson was linked to the deaths of three Kentucky women from meth overdoses, with concerns that there could be more victims.
Epperson is charged with murder in the death of Kristen Morris, found in an Airbnb he rented in May 2025. Police say he is also connected to the deaths of Hilory Davis in November 2024 and Reacheal Dawson in June 2025, both discovered in hotel rooms he had booked.
Reacheal Dawson grew up in Louisville before moving near Lexington, where she lived with her boyfriend and helped raise two children. In June 2025, she disappeared after going for a walk. Hours later, police informed her family she was dead, with a toxicology report revealing a large amount of meth, though her family says she never used drugs. She had also been sexually assaulted. The room where she was found had been rented by Epperson, a name unfamiliar to the family but known to detectives.
Kay Dawson, Reacheal’s sister, said, “Had they locked him up … this would’ve never happened to my sister.” She added that Reacheal had exchanged a few messages with Epperson, likely about home repairs, and had planned to meet him. Investigators also reviewed Epperson’s search history, which included disturbing questions such as “How long does it take for the jaw to lock, why doesn’t it bother me to watch someone die.”
Reacheal’s boyfriend, Thompson, had been planning to propose after seven years together. He said, “I don’t get to see her in a wedding dress.”
Kay Dawson fears there may be more victims. “I think my sister helped a serial killer get off the streets because we don’t know how long he’s been doing this to people,” she said.
A preliminary hearing was held Tuesday behind closed doors, but the family has not yet been informed of the outcome. Loved ones hope that charges against Epperson will be upgraded soon.
