A 60-year-old woman from Thompson lost her life in a UTV crash in Audrain County on Friday night.
She was operating her UTV southbound on Audrain County Road 209, northwest of Mexico, Missouri, when the incident occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
The woman swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway, left the left side of the road, overturned, and became airborne before coming to rest on the roadway, the report states.
She was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected during the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:49 p.m., according to the crash report.
Her body was transported to Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico, and the UTV was deemed a total loss, the report confirms.
This incident marks Highway Patrol Troop F’s seventh fatality in September and the 49th in 2026, according to the crash report.
