Authorities in Ohio have arrested two women and charged them with theft after they stole thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from the Dollar General store where they worked.
Toledo police said 44-year-old Martha Schultz and 46-year-old Stacey Leestma of Toledo have been charged with stealing over $44,000 in products from the Dollar General store where they worked last year with the aim of selling them on Facebook Marketplace (which they did).
According to police, the store manager noticed the two pretending to scan products being checked out by some co-conspirators who pretended to be customers and hid the items in bins.
They sold the things through their personal Facebook profiles.
