A man was shot and severely injured early Monday morning in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood.

The 30-year-old was inside a home in the 4600 block of South Winchester Avenue shortly before 5 a.m. when a suspect arrived and shot him many times through the door.
The victim was shot in the head and shoulder and transported to Stroger Hospital, where he was classified in serious condition.
There were no other recorded injuries. Area One detectives are conducting an investigation.
There have been no details provided regarding the suspect or the motivation for the shooting.
