Louisville man charged after shooting injures woman

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Police arrested a Louisville man in connection with a non-fatal shooting that left a woman injured in Old Louisville.

According to court documents, 50-year-old Sammy Frankie Allen Mobley faces a second-degree assault charge following a shooting Thursday.

Just before 10 p.m., Louisville Metro Police responded to a reported shooting in the 300 block of East Oak Street, spokesperson Adam Sears said.

When officers arrived, they found a woman who had been shot in the hand, Sears said. Police provided aid until EMS arrived and transported her to UofL Hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Investigators identified Mobley as the suspect during their investigation.

Police said the victim suffered a single gunshot wound to her left hand. Authorities noted she is expected to experience prolonged complications and will require follow-up medical care.

Court records show that additional charges could be filed in connection with the incident.
