Stay warm.

Cold weather.

Five U.S. states are preparing for a “massive” temperature drop on Easter Sunday.

The National Weather Service has issued a frost warning across five states, with temperatures expected to fall into the 30s after much of the East Coast saw highs in the 70s and 80s this weekend.

The five states expecting significant temperature drops are:

  • Kentucky
  • Ohio
  • West Virginia
  • Indiana
  • Pennsylvania

Along with the colder temperatures, vegetation could also be affected.

“Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered,” the National Weather Service warned.

The frost watch remains in effect until Tuesday morning.

Here’s a reminder of what to do during severe cold:

Minimize travel.
Stay indoors during the coldest part of the day.
Keep a winter survival kit in your vehicle if travel is necessary.
Check tire pressure, antifreeze levels, and heater/defroster.
Learn how to shut off water valves in case pipes burst.
Check on elderly individuals.
Bring pets indoors.
Wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing along with a hat.
Mittens, fitted at the wrist, are better than gloves.
Cover your mouth to protect your lungs from the cold air.
Stay dry and avoid windy conditions.

Stay safe, everyone.
