Fultz paces Lady Tigers with double-double

(MANCHESTER, Ky.) – The Clay County Lady Tigers currently sit at 3-2 and are off to a wonderful start for the year. Coach Gemma Gray and her squad have improved this offseason and the results show it, as wins are in the book and players are finding individual success. This week of action will be recapped below.

Clay County 45 Barbourville 34 – The Lady Tigers notched a home victory over Barbourville 45-34 on Friday, featuring a double-double effort from Carly Fultz. Fultz led the team with a season high 14 points and 17 rebounds, capping off a huge performance. Sophomore Madison Pendland found her groove as well, pouring in 10 points and snagging four rebounds as well.

This team is young, but the youth are finding a rhythm as well. Maci White added eight points, Anna Samples five, Holly Hacker three, Daisy Samples three, and Harper Rice with two. 

Clay County 66 Buckhorn 30 – Two in a row is a streak! The Tigers won their second straight game and featured a very balanced attack. Anna Samples paced the Tiger offense with a 13-point game, sinking two deep threes as well. Madison Pendland tossed in 12 points and six rebounds, while Holly Hacker added 11 points on three threes to round out the double-digit scoring. 

Harper Rice added seven points for the Lady Tigers, Maci White seven, Carly Fultz with five and nine rebounds, Daisy Samples five, Ryleigh Chesnut three, and Adyson Wagers three. The Lady Tigers also shot the ball with conviction, drilling nine threes while shooting 475 behind the arc, as well as 37% from the field. An overall very solid performance from the Lady Tigers on the road on this one.
