Suspect arrested for burglary at Breckinridge County childcare center

A man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at a childcare and preschool facility in Breckinridge County.

The Hardinsburg Police Department and the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office launched a joint investigation after a break-in at The Learning Academy Child Care and Preschool, located at 525 Old State Road 60 in Hardinsburg.

Authorities arrested 33-year-old Connor Mettling, of Louisville, on Thursday at a home on Austin Drive in Hardinsburg. According to WXBC.com, Mettling faces charges of third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

He was taken to the Breckinridge County Detention Center.

Police also arrested 26-year-old Rebecca L. Macey, of Harned, at the same residence. She was charged with hindering prosecution and was also lodged in the Breckinridge County Detention Center.
