Transport across much of Central Europe was brought to a standstill as freezing rain caused widespread disruptions.
Freezing rain on Tuesday led to major travel problems across the region, including the temporary suspension of flights at several airports.
The latest disruptions followed a week of severe winter weather, as snow, freezing temperatures and gale-force winds swept across Europe. Storms during that period were blamed for about 15 deaths, triggered widespread travel chaos, forced school closures and knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of people.
