This afternoon will be mild, though not as warm as yesterday, with highs reaching the low 60s under mostly cloudy skies. Tonight, temperatures will drop to the upper 40s and low 50s.

Tomorrow brings high winds, with gusts of 30–35 mph, and a conditional risk for severe weather in the evening. While energy levels are low, wind shear is high, meaning any storms that develop could be severe, giving Thursday evening a marginal risk. Early Friday, another chance for severe weather exists, mainly from gusty winds. Most of the severe activity is expected south of the Heartland, but parts of western Kentucky could still see strong gusts.

Rain is expected to continue into early Saturday morning, followed by much cooler air for the weekend. Highs will be in the mid to low 40s on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Next week will be slightly warmer, with highs in the 50s, near the seasonal average.
