Gov. JB Pritzker cancels next week’s schedule to undergo medical procedure

Governor JB Pritzker will be stepping back from his scheduled engagements next week in order to recover from an upcoming medical procedure, according to an announcement made by his office on Friday.

The governor’s office confirmed that Pritzker is set to undergo an outpatient urology procedure on Monday. Although his public appearances will be temporarily suspended, he is expected to continue carrying out his official responsibilities throughout the duration of his recovery.

This is not the first time the governor has undergone a procedure of this nature. In May, Pritzker had a comparable procedure performed, following which he was briefly hospitalized due to what his office characterized at the time as a “minor complication.” During that instance, he received overnight treatment at a medical facility before being discharged and returned home, with no ambulance transport having been required.

“The Governor is grateful for well-wishes and looks forward to resuming public events soon,” Pritzker’s office stated on Friday.
