Three individuals were taken into custody during a fugitive warrant served in Florida.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Problem Area Crime Enforcement Unit, Fugitive Apprehension Unit, and patrol deputies responded to a residence on Ballenger Lane in Palm Coast for fugitive warrant serving.
Deputies discovered that 20-year-old Jeremiah Myke of Palm Coast, who had a felony arrest warrant for criminal mischief over $1,000, was possibly present at the residence.
According to local law enforcement, deputies approached two ladies, 18-year-old Julianna Colon and 23-year-old Crystelle Colon, and asked about Myke’s whereabouts. Both women insisted that Myke was not at the home, telling deputies that he had departed the day before and that they had no idea where he went. During the talk, deputies saw that both ladies were nervous, leading them to assume they were deceitful, according to FCSO.
After the women refused to allow a search of their home, deputies left but stayed to monitor the situation. Shortly after, deputies saw Myke and Julianna leave the house in a vehicle. Deputies then pulled over the vehicle and arrested both occupants. Deputies then returned to the residence and spoke with Crystelle Colon again, but this time she said that Myke had been there throughout their previous conversation.
Deputies arrested Myke on his warrant. Deputies also arrested Julianna Colon and Crystelle Colon for obstruction without violence after they knew and voluntarily lied to law authorities about sheltering the fugitive. Myke is inside their home.
“Lying to law enforcement is never a good idea, because guess what? Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly stated, “Our deputies are really good at telling if you’re lying to them, as everyone in this situation learned.” “This guy felt he could hide out and deputies would just go away, and these women thought they could lie to get him out of the house. All their trickery accomplished was to land all three in the Green Roof Inn when deputies were only looking for one.”
All three were taken to Sheriff Perry Hall’s Inmate Detention Facility. Both women were released with $500 bail.
