Four people have been transported to the hospital after a crash involving a fuel tanker and a pickup truck Sunday evening, Sept. 27, along Interstate 25 in the Hatch area, New Mexico State Police said.
The crash occurred at 6 p.m. Sunday on southbound I-25 at milepost 41 near Hatch.
State Police stated the fuel tanker caught fire. There have been no fatalities recorded; however, four people have been sent to a local hospital. Their current status is unknown, according to the NMSP Police.
Dona Ana County, however, reported the four persons were taken with significant injuries.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation reported that I-25 reopened in both directions around 10:30 p.m. The Arrey Derry Fire Department and Spaceport America fire departments supported the Dona Ana Fire Rescue units on the scene.
