An investigation was underway Thursday after a deceased body was discovered near to a park bench in Santee.
According to a statement from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, the deceased man was discovered next to a park seat around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 9100 block of Carlton Hills Boulevard.
The reason for death and the man’s identification were not immediately available.
The sheriff’s office reported that homicide investigators are presently investigating the death. The body was taken into custody by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will identify its identity and cause of death, according to authorities.
The sheriff’s office stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
