Milton Leroy Harvey III of Indianapolis and Deandre Leshone Williams of Gary are facing felony charges in connection with an armed robbery at a Lake Station Boost Mobile, according to authorities. The stolen cellphones were ultimately tracked to transactions in Indianapolis.
According to court records, Lake Station Police responded to the Boost Mobile on Central Avenue about 4:16 p.m. on January 18, 2026, for a suspected armed robbery. Police discovered an employee locked inside a back office. The employee informed investigators that two guys entered the store, one of whom showed a firearm, and that multiple cellphones and $529 in cash were stolen.
The employee informed police that the suspects forced him to raise his hands, push his face against a door, and then lie on the floor before trapping him within the office. Surveillance footage apparently showed one suspect holding what seemed to be a weapon, while the second suspect handled property and helped remove items from the store.
As the investigation progressed, officers got a list of stolen cellphones and discovered that numerous phones matching the stolen inventory were sold at ecoATM kiosks in Indianapolis shortly after the theft.
According to the affidavit, Harvey made nine distinct mobile transactions between January 19 and February 3. Harvey’s pictures, driver’s licence information, signature and fingerprint verification were purportedly included in the transaction records.
According to investigators, many phones sold by Harvey were confirmed stolen from the Lake Station Boost Mobile, and more phones matched other devices on the store’s stolen inventory list.
Police discovered that several of Harvey’s transactions occurred on January 19, within hours of the heist. Surveillance footage from the transactions allegedly captured Harvey wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white drawstrings, trousers, black-and-white sneakers, and a winter cap. According to investigators, Harvey’s look was consistent with one of the criminals recorded on robbery security tape.
Investigators also linked a Jeep Grand Cherokee to the transactions. Camera footage allegedly captured a matching vehicle in the Lake County region prior to the crime and in the Indianapolis area while Harvey was performing transactions with phones stolen from Boost Mobile.
According to court documents, Williams previously was convicted of armed robbery in Monroe County, Indiana, in 2020.
