17-Time Felon From St. Petersburg Apprehended In Tampa On Drug Trafficking Charges

A 40-year-old convicted felon and gang member from St. Petersburg was apprehended in Tampa on Monday when undercover officers seized trafficking amounts of narcotics, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

On August 17, 2026, authorities apprehended Anthony Schwebel as part of an ongoing narcotics operation. Schwebel, a recognized gang member with 17 prior felony convictions, was spotted by investigators after riding a Yamaha motorcycle to a Tampa meeting location.

Schwebel was arrested after undercover officers entered the scene. A later search found that he was trafficking large quantities of methamphetamine and oxycodone.

Schwebel was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail while the investigation into the narcotics business proceeds.
