Louisville Metro warns residents about scam emails targeting planning applications

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Government is warning residents about scam emails posing as official messages that request payment to “finalize” planning applications.

Officials said in a Tuesday release that the emails are fraudulent and advised anyone who receives them not to respond.

Metro Government emphasized that it will never request payment through email, wire transfer, or third-party payment platforms. All application fees must be paid at the time of submission through official channels only.

Officials added that legitimate communication regarding applications will only come by phone or from an @louisvilleky.gov email address.
