A bicyclist died Monday night after a crash in Louisville’s Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood left him trapped beneath a vehicle.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, Third Division officers responded around 8:20 p.m. to the 4900 block of West Pages Lane following reports of a crash involving a bicyclist.
Police said their preliminary investigation shows an adult male was riding his bike along West Pages Lane when a vehicle traveling in the same direction struck him.
After the impact, the man lost control of his bicycle and became pinned underneath the vehicle, police said. The driver continued for “a distance” before stopping and calling for help.
PRP EMS and fire crews arrived at the scene, where they pronounced the man dead.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating the incident and will work with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to decide if any charges will be filed.
Police said the road remains closed as the investigation continues.
